I am an in-network provider with:
Carolina Behavioral Health Alliance (CBHA)
For Private Pay Clients:
55-60 minute sessions: $140
75-80 minute sessions: $210
Individual and couples sessions are generally 55 minutes long. The most effective session length for couples and families is 80-90 minutes. Session length beyond 55 minutes can be extended at the rate of $40 per additional quarter hour.
In the beginning, it is generally most helpful to have weekly sessions. Towards the end of therapy, it is possible to meet less frequently. Although there are many exceptions, some individuals make desired changes within 6-12 sessions, while some couples make desired changes within 15-20 sessions. Payment is due at the beginning of each session. Cash or checks only. At this time we are not able to take credit card payments. It is appreciated if you make your check out in advance to save time in the session.
It is your responsibility to check your own insurance coverage, co-pay, and deductible.
It can be helpful to ask your insurance provider …
Do I have mental health insurance benefits?
What is my deductible and has it been met?
What is my co-pay?
How many sessions per year does my health insurance cover?
What is the coverage amount per therapy session? Is there a co-pay and how much is it? Is there a co-insurance and what is it?
Will I need to obtain pre-authorization from my insurance company before starting therapy?
Is approval required from my primary care physician?
Please also be aware …
If your health insurance carrier allows you to choose an out-of-network provider (usually a PPO plan), I will gladly provide you with a monthly statement so that you can seek reimbursement from your insurance provider.
Any ad-hoc services (e.g., phone call consultations beyond 10 minutes) will be billed at the same rate as office visits on a pro rated basis and will be payable at the next session.
Missed appointments or appointments cancelled less than 48 hours in advance will be charged $75 for the clinical hour and $100 for a 75-minute session. When you schedule an appointment, that clinical hour is reserved for you. In doing so, I am unable to provide service to other clients during that time.
If you are late, we will meet for the remainder of the scheduled session. If you are more than 15 minutes late and I have not heard from you, I will assume you are not coming and may leave the office.
Please inform me if any problem arises during the course of therapy affecting your ability to make timely payments.
